INTRO TO COPPERPLATE CALLIGRAPHY, HOLIDAY EDITION I am so delighted to be able to once again offer one of my favorite (and most requested) classes! Hosted at the award winning, Orenda Winery in Carnation Washington, our class will be the perfect setting to kick-start your holiday mood and your calligraphy learning journey. We will start with instruction on to how to use the old-fashioned writing tools of dip pen and ink and will cover the key basics to set your calligraphy journey off on the right foot. Participants will learn how to use basic strokes to build letters one stroke at a time which makes a complex writing style approachable and FUN! We will finish the class by applying what we’ve learned by scripting some beautiful holiday gift tags to adorn your gifts under the tree. Plus, you will get to enjoy a glass of wine and take home all the writing supplies to keep up your learning enthusiasm My goal is that you will walk out of class not only ready to script some gorgeous gift tags but also leave with the confidence to continue practicing and the right supplies to make the process enjoyable. Teacher Bio: Chantelle Hoffmann is a professional calligrapher, engraver, and instructor whose work with pointed pen calligraphy has graced celebrity weddings, luxury brand items, and countless home walls. She has taught calligraphy to over 10,000 students through her partnership with luxury pen maker, Montblanc. Her own journey with pen and ink began as a young teen and has been guided by instruction from Master Penmen and numerous other skilled artists.
